Collaboration Toward Abundant Wellness

My Approach

Medical Herbalism

Medical herbalism is a term used to describe understanding how herbs interact with the body on a physiological and chemical level. This approach allows me to integrate a traditional folk practice with the medicalized language of how the body functions. The scientific study of herbs is imprecise and inconclusive but can tell us a lot about the how something might work.

My clinical practice is relational and collaborative with my clients. We work together in the medium and long term to move you toward your wellness goals. I practice an energetic and medical herbalist approach, do nutritional support, and help you think through your lifestyle approaches.

Energetics

In the Western Herbal tradition energetics was popularized by the physiomedicalist tradition and mirrors many other cultural systems of herbalism like Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. I view body function and states through the lens of heat, laxity and more to balance these presentations with herbs of opposing energy.

Nutrition

A major source of support for the body is what we’re fueling it with! I can offer ways to get herbal and dietary support in the foods you’re eating and the diet pattern.

Lifestyle

Wellness is holistic. From sleep to how we process stress, or movement and spiritual support - it all adds up. How we’re supported in the mind, body, and spirit to help meet our goals.
